Seawall Repair & Marine Construction in Lighthouse Point
Cap work, seawall repair, docks, and lifts for saltwater homes along the Intracoastal and residential canals near Hillsboro Inlet.
Working Along Saltwater Canals
Lighthouse Point homes meet a connected saltwater shoreline: residential canals lead toward the Intracoastal Waterway and Hillsboro Inlet, with boating activity woven into everyday waterfront use. A seawall, dock, and lift have to work together at the edge of a lived-in property.
We approach each site from its actual water frontage. We review the wall and cap, how a dock meets the shoreline, and what boat access the lift needs, then shape the work around those conditions rather than treating each structure as an isolated upgrade.
Our company is based at 5635 Rico Drive in Boca Raton and serves Lighthouse Point from there. For a cap raise, a repair, or a coordinated waterfront project, we can walk through the scope and the documents the city requests.
The city’s Sec. 42-381 sets its own cap-height requirements, while Broward County’s tidal flood barrier standard adds requirements for new and substantially repaired or improved barriers. Understanding both is central to planning a wall project here.
Seawalls, Docks & Lifts for Local Waterfront Homes
Seawall Repair & Cap Raises
We assess the wall, its cap, and its connection to the neighboring property before recommending repair or a cap raise. For a new or substantially improved wall, the Lighthouse Point cap rules and Broward tidal-barrier standard both matter.
Learn MoreNew Seawall Construction
A replacement seawall on a Lighthouse Point canal or Intracoastal lot must be planned around the local cap-height requirements and the shoreline next door. We coordinate the plans and approvals for the proposed wall.
Learn MoreCustom Dock Building
We plan residential docks for saltwater canal and Intracoastal frontage, coordinating the dock layout with the seawall cap and access to the waterway.
Learn MoreBoat Lift Installation
We fit a lift to the boat, dock, and available water-side clearance, then coordinate its placement with the waterfront work around it.
Learn MoreSeawall Inspection
A focused inspection records the condition and height of the seawall, the cap, and the adjoining ground so you can decide what work to plan.
Learn MoreMarine Inspections
We can assess the seawall, dock, and lift together when you need a view of the connected waterfront structures.
Learn MorePlanning a Lighthouse Point Cap Raise
Lighthouse Point Sec. 42-381, amended in 2023, requires all seawalls to have a cap elevation of no less than 4.0 ft NAVD. Owners may raise or cap walls to 5.0 ft NAVD. A cap from 3 ft 8 in to 5 ft 4 in NAVD is treated as conforming. Read the Lighthouse Point Sec. 42-381 amendment.
A new or substantially rehabilitated, replaced, or improved seawall must be designed to accommodate a 5.0 ft NAVD cap. When a wall is built higher than the adjacent property, return walls must be built on the owner's property, parallel to the property line, until the elevations match.
Broward County's tidal flood barrier standard (Ch. 39, Art. XXV) also applies to new or substantially repaired walls. For county rules, read our king tides and cap-height guide and the county’s seawall and flood barrier policy.
We can also help evaluate a cap raise as part of a king-tide seawall review or explain how a seawall cap repair is scoped.
We Handle the Dock & Seawall Checklist
Lighthouse Point’s Building Department dock and seawall checklist calls for project documents and approvals that depend on the scope and waterway. We coordinate the required items with the project so the application and final inspection records line up.
The checklist includes outside-agency approvals from Broward County, DEP, or the Army Corps; signed and sealed plans; a Notice of Commencement; contractor registration, including a federal Longshore insurance policy where required for work over navigable water; and an updated dock and seawall survey showing seawall height before final inspection.
Our seawall construction, dock construction, and boat lift installation teams can coordinate related work around the property’s waterfront plan.
- Outside-agency approvals from Broward County, DEP, or the Army Corps, as applicable
- Signed and sealed plans
- Notice of Commencement
- Contractor registration, including a federal Longshore insurance policy when required for work over navigable water
- An updated dock and seawall survey showing seawall height before final inspection

One Coordinated Waterfront
This Lighthouse Point project brought the seawall cap, dock, and boat lift together under one construction scope. The cap protects the wall, the dock serves the waterfront, and the lift keeps the boat out of the water when not in use.
Bringing the structures into the same plan lets us consider how each one meets the waterline and the others. See more examples in our project gallery.

Check the Wall, Cap & Waterfront Together
A seawall inspection can document the cap, wall, adjoining property elevations, and visible areas behind the structure. If the dock or lift is part of the project, a marine inspection can include those connected features too.
We review what the site needs, explain which work can be coordinated, and identify the approvals and survey information the project calls for. If you are checking a cap after high water, our king tides guide includes a practical walk-around checklist.
